Original goals of WMPN
The goals which led to the formation of WMPN are outlined below:
To provide a forum through which physicians on the active and associate medical staff of Spectrum Health may manage the relationship with the hospital for global capitated payments from Priority Health.
To create an organization which can represent its physician members in discussions with managed care organizations and employers who are seeking a high performance physician network to manage the health care needs of their members and employees.
To provide its physician members with the information and tools to manage and improve the quality and cost effectiveness of the health care they deliver.
To work with Spectrum Health and other provider organizations to manage the quality and cost of health care provided to communities throughout western Michigan.
To reward providers who demonstrate a track record of delivering high quality, cost effective health care.
WMPN Today
West Michigan Physicians Network (WMPN) is a Grand Rapids, Michigan based physician organization (PO) with membership open to all physicians on the medical staff at Spectrum Health. As of August 1, 2006, WMPN has 447 physician members.
