Is WMPN affiliated with or owned by Priority Health or any other managed care payors? No, WMPN is an independent, physician-owned organization which negotiates managed care contracts for its physician members.
What is Priority Health? Priority Health is not-for-profit, provider-owned managed care organization located in West Michigan. Spectrum Health and Holland Community Hospital own 80% and 20% of Priority Health, respectively. Priority Health has contracts with more than 5,000 employer groups in West Michigan and a network of over 2,200 physicians who provide specialized care. Spectrum Health PHO has negotiated a Commercial/HMO contract with Priority Health.
Can I become a member of WMPN if I'm a member of POWM? Yes, WMPN and POWM offer different products/contracts. The two physician organizations have different focuses. WMPN is the physician organization connected with Spectrum Health in forming Spectrum Health Physician Hospital Organization (PHO).
